JACOPO del SELLAIO (1442-1493)

The Nerli Cassone

1472
Wood
Courtald Institute Galleries, London

This cassone, together with a companion-piece, was executed for a wedding by Zanobi di Domenico, Jacopo del Sellaio and Biagio d'Antonio. It is noteworthy that both the cassone and its back (spalliera) are decorated by a painting.
