What Every Man Should Know

How to use a claw hammer.

How to change a tire.

What Every Man Should Have

A well practiced recipie that does not use any ingredient from a can.

A swiss army knife. (Young whipper-snappers may substitute a Leatherman multi-tool here)

A place that his HIS, to think, drink a beer, consider the world, and smoke if he wants to, unmolested by the rest of the world. In short, however small: man space.

I've got a couple of open projects that I am hoping to finish before October 30th. For those who are not in the loop, I am schedule to be elevated to the Companionate of the Laurel on that date, and I'd like to get a couple of things together before my Vigil. I've promised Mistress Solveig that I will finish her elevation plaque so it can be displayed at my Vigil. I'd like to finish my three panel frame-and-panel chest. And I've also promised the Barony a savanarola chair for two years. Before I was slated to be elevated, Silver Hammer was to be my latest delivery date. Alas, it fell completely from my mind. I've still got five weeks, though, and if I put my mind to it, I might be able to finish it by then.

I'm not sure what I'm really going to do with this Journal section. It seemed like a good idea when I was doing the site layout, but I don't think that I'm going to have the tenacity to do anything like a daily or weekly log entry.
