While an undergraduate at the College of Charleston he was a Water Safety Instructor for the US Naval Base in Charleston, South Carolina. Transferring to the University of Tennessee and enrolling in the Computer Science program, Mr. McNutt paid his tuition for several years as a student police officer with the University of Tennessee Police Department. Many years since then, and many job titles later, Mr. McNutt built the organization to a support department with thirty servers and over a dozen personnel.
